Rough Australia

In Australia, There's Always Room for One More

It's not surprising that Australia is one of the least densely populated country in the world. With a population of (as of 2006) 20,675,614 spread over a total land area of 7,686,850 square kilometres, that's a mere 2.6 people per square kilometer. Two people for every square kilometer is not a lot. Kinda makes Australia seem a lonely place then, huh?

Of course, this isn't the real case; population density figures don't mean exact numbers of people per land area. It is just a raw and rough gauge in measuring how population is distributed across the country. It's just so happened that Australia is a pretty big countryalso a continentwhile there aren't too many people in it.

But one thing's for sure: it's not going to be lonely in Australia. Australians are a fun-loving people. To be an Australian is to know the Great Outdoor; you can even say Aussies are allergic to the enclosed space. When they're not sailing in the seas, or scuba diving in the Great Barrier Reef, or playing footy (a version of soccer), or in simply having a grand time in any of Australia's parks, they're probably trekking the Outback, that unexplored and awesome region in the middle of the country. There's always something to do in Australia. Australia is bustling, even at night.

And there's always a mate (a friend) to get to know there. Australia is a lovely melting pot besides. Over the years, thousands of migrants have flocked into the country, a welcome multicultural, kaleidoscopic diversity that's changing the face of the population in the land Down Under every second. Australia's shores are open to people of all races and backgrounds, thanks to its non-discriminatory immigration policy. And because of Australia's plenty job opportunities and high standard of living, it's no wonder Australia is the top destination pick of most immigrants.

Indeed, in Australia, there's always room for one more. Australia may be vast and overwhelming, but it's never boring, never uneventful, and certainly never empty. The people there fill it out quite fine and well.

Australia Travel Tips and Transport

Australia has six states and two territories, which are all fairly large-32 times in the United Kingdom. For example, cattle stations in Western Australia, the size of some European countries!

Whether by plane, by car, train or bus to get ready to go hours of travel! Do not despair though Australia has some of the most beautiful landscapes on the planet.

Travelling by plane
The east coast of Australia is served by four major airlines: Qantas, Jetstar, Virgin Blue and newcomer Tiger Airways. Qantas is the main company air and others are what you call low-cost carriers. After using three of the four (not used Tiger) I can personally attest that all comfortable and all have very special rates based on current (check their sites!).
Generally, this is sometimes air travel between the major centers of the east coast of Australia:

Sydney to Brisbane 1.5 hours
Sydney to Melbourne: a little over an hour
Melbourne to Brisbane: 3:00
Gold Coast to Sydney: 1-2 hours
Sydney to Cairns: 2.5-3 hours
Brisbane to Cairns: Just two hours
Sydney to Gold Coast: 3:00
Melbourne to Gold Coast: 2.25 hours
Brisbane to Gold Coast: Do not worry, it only leads
Sydney to Canberra: Approximately 45 minutes

Travelling by car
Remember, as I said at the beginning is a vast country Australia So if you choose to travel by car, plan longer trips. Please be sure to stop, revive and relax After 3-4 hours of driving to avoid any incident. Also beware of kangaroos and wallabies on the road, which can cause much damage to vehicles. If rent a car and going to be on the road a lot then consider a strong reliable cars Holden (Australian company), Ford and Toyota. A 4-cylinder car is as good as a cylinder of 6 days and thesis cheaper fuel. Holden Commodore 6 cylinder has for some time and is designed for conditions in Australia, but most automakers producing quality cars nowadays.

Always make sure you have plenty of water with you on during your car breaks down.

If a budget to consider a van or bad Britz, which can be used as accommodation as well. Beam that their security checks on the car to ensure they are safe, for example, tires, oil, etc. Here is a rough indication lights driving times between major centers:

Sydney to Brisbane: 9:00
Sydney to Melbourne 12:00
Melbourne to Brisbane: 20 hours
Gold Coast to Sydney: 11:00
Sydney to Cairns: 40 hours (best fly!)
Brisbane to Cairns: 22 hours
Sydney to Gold Coast: eleven o'clock
Melbourne to Gold Coast: 23 hours
Brisbane Gold Coast: 1:00
Sydney to Canberra: 4:00

Bus travel
I made many trips by bus and I find soothing. modern coaches (as we call them) are very comfortable and safe. With tickets Cheap, Travel by bus these days can work more expensive than flying, but again can not all destinations are served by airlines. If you want to experience the major regional centers such as Toowoomba in Queensland and Armidale, New South Wales city or country and then the bus might be the best way forward. The major bus company in Australia is as follows: Greyhound, and a variety of packages to suit your plans Travel. They also have affiliations with leading backpacker hostel: AJ, and nomads. Visit their website for more information. Tip final most sites in Australia in.com.au

Travelling by train
All Australian cities have a network of trains over who is managed very efficiently. Although not the standard London Underground trains that I have lived in all capitals except Perth and are more secure, less expensive and could the pleasure of travel. A tip though most capitals expect the use of travel cards instead of money, for example, in southern Queensland are now using GoCards. Now, if you want to travel long distances by train is good too. Here are the main providers and long distance travel around Australia:

Sydney - Adelaide - Perth (The Indian Pacific)
Adelaide Alice Springs - - Darwin (The Ghan)
Melbourne - Adelaide (land)
Sydney - Melbourne (CountryLink)
Sydney - Canberra (CountryLink)
Sydney - Brisbane (CountryLink)
Brisbane - Townsville - Cairns (Qld Rail)
Rockhampton and Cairns, Longreach Forsayth lines
Kalgoorlie - Perth (Transwa)

Here is a summary of the options you have to pass the east coast of Australia. My suggestion would combine all those who come to discover the landscapes, but not blow the budget at the same time.
